What Is In Our Raw NRC Beef and Duck Dog Food?

NRC Beef and Duck Raw

Raw dog food is becoming an increasingly popular option among pet owners who are looking for a healthy and natural alternative to traditional kibble. However, not all raw dog food products are created equal, and it can be challenging to decide which one is the best choice for your furry friend. In this blog post, we will explain why you should choose our raw dog food over other products on the market!

For many months, we have done our research and trials to produce the best quality raw dog food and we are proud to announce the launch of our new line of Premium NRC Complete and Balanced Raw Dog Food.

BELLY UP’s NRC raw food is made up of 75% meat, 20% fruits and vegetables, and 5% supplements necessary to meet the nutrient levels as set out by the NRC for dogs of All Life Stages (including puppies, adult dogs and senior dogs). NRC (National Research Council) is a private and non-profit organization that sets out guidelines on the minimum and recommended allowance (RA) for essential nutrients to maintain your dog’s optimal health.

With a carefully curated selection of human-grade meat, organs, bones, vegetables, fruits and supplements, our raw food is produced in an SFA certified facility complying with the food safety standards set by the Singapore government. Using blast freezer technology to preserve our raw food at very low temperatures, our raw food is able to retain its food quality and structure better than traditional freezing methods. This process halts the spread of bacteria rapidly, resulting in food that is both fresher and safer to eat.

Our raw meals are high in nutrients per calorie, which means that your dog can meet their energy requirements with less food intake compared to less nutrient-dense foods. This makes our raw food diet a cost-effective and healthy option for your pet.

With 157.2 kcal per 100g of our NRC Beef and Duck Raw, a 10kg pup would require 300g to 350g of food per day. Here’s a detailed feeding chart you can refer to based on your pup’s weight and activity level.

The ingredients in our NRC Beef and Duck Raw:

Grass-Fed Beef Shank

We use human grade Grass-Fed Beef flown in from Australia, these grass-fed meat has more antioxidants, lower dietary cholesterol, and more vitamins A and E than conventional meat.

Cage-Free Duck Neck

Our Cage-Free Duck are Antibiotic- and Hormone-Free. It is a great source of protein low in saturated fat, a rich source of most B vitamins, and also has useful amounts of phosphorous and potassium.

Organic Oats

Rich in avenanthramide (an antioxidant found almost exclusively in oats), a proven plant-based polyphenol that's known to help lower blood pressure as well as have anti-inflammatory and anti-itching effects.

Pacific Oyster

Gently cooked to eliminate harmful bacteria and salmonella, oysters are a rich source of zinc and selenium. Zinc is essential for immune system health, metabolic function, and healing. Selenium is essential for healthy reproduction, thyroid health, and combatting free radicals.

Blueberry

High in antioxidants, blueberries help to combat free radicals that are present in our everyday life. Pesticides, medications and toxins in your dog's processed food and environment contribute to free radical growth. Over time, the free radicals will accumulate and can lead to damaged DNA and chronic disease. So your dog needs plenty of antioxidants to help control these dangerous free radicals in their body.

Sunflower Lecithin

Sunflower lecithin helps promote a healthy heart and liver and lowers cholesterol. It is known to help cell renewal, support brain function and improve memory. This is particularly useful in helping to prevent or treat canine cognitive disorder (doggie Alzheimer’s disease) due to the presence of choline.

Omega-3 Oil (Wild Anchovy and Sardine Oil)

Distilled for purity and to remove harmful toxins and heavy metals, the addition of Omega-3 helps to support healthy skin, coat, joints, heart and the development and maintenance of the brains and eyes for our pups. Like humans, dogs can't produce omega-3 fatty acids on their own and must get them from their diet.

Icelandic Kelp

Kelp contains a rich natural source of salts and minerals (including iodine, magnesium, potassium, iron and calcium) which helps keep the dog's entire glandular system, the pituitary gland, the adrenal gland, as well as the thyroid gland healthy. Kelp reduces itchiness in dogs with skin allergies and improves the general condition of skin and coat.
