Interesting Singaporean Activities You Can Do With Your Dogs During This Covid Lockdown.
“Another lockdown? What are we going to do?”
These were our sentiments as we went into Phase 2 Heightened Alert in late July 2021 in Singapore. Limited activities could be done outdoors to prevent mass gatherings and community interactions. This also meant tougher economic conditions for many local businesses who may have already been suffering from the pandemic’s ramifications.
We understand that it might be challenging for many pet parents who are staying home and keeping safe with their pets, but we wanted to compile a list of useful activities that you can do with your dogs during this lockdown period to enhance your stay home experience.

Prepare Your Own Air-Dried Treats
Since dining in is restricted and folks are staying at home, many pet parents have gotten down to preparing their own air dried treats for their pets. This little home activity can help with appreciating how home-baked / dehydrated treats are produced like other home-based pet treats businesses. You can look up how to find the best chicken for your dogs here.

Meet Other Furry Friends At Dog Parks
Our human friends cannot get together in groups of more than two, but our furry friends can! Dog parks are still open during Phase 2 Heightened Alert, so feel free to bring your pups to the various dog parks spread out across our sunny island.
With a bigger dog park, there is more space to minimise interaction with other people, so opt for one like the biggest dog park in Singapore’s east side, the East Coast Park Dog Run. The space is longitudinal with three different entrances and a huge 0.2 hectare space for many dogs to run and mingle.
Go For A Dog-Friendly Staycation
An increasing number of dog owners in Singapore has also seen a rise in the number of dog-friendly hotels and staycation locations. Capella Singapore is one of these dog-friendly staycations resorts that have excellent service and huge suites for your pups to run around in.
In addition to the staycation, you could also bring your dogs to different parts of Sentosa for some fun on the sandy beach or a nice stroll across the wharf in Sentosa Cove.
Engage In Fun Indoor Activities
If you are less inclined to head outdoors, we have some activities that you can do with your dogs indoors that are fun and engaging. With Singapore’s uncertain weather as the monsoon approaches, having a few indoor activities to do with your furkids on hand will definitely be useful.
Basic tricks like “paw”, “spin”, “play dead”; graduating to more complex tricks like closing the door and barking on command can be interesting to pick up. We often use these as party tricks to entertain ourselves or our guests when they visit.
Furthermore, you can try out some balancing exercises, home-made obstacle courses, or even hide-and-seek with treats to keep staying indoors fun and engaging.
Try Out Some Dog Yoga
Yoga studios and sports gyms have all closed, which now limits our options on exercising and keeping healthy. However, there are still many options available to stay active with our furry friends. This include trying out some yoga with your dog, also known as Doga. Yoga with your dog can be a bonding experience that helps keep both you and your pup mentally and physically healthy.
Overall, we hope that everyone is keeping safe during the lockdown. It is a trying time for many, and if you ever need any help or someone to speak to, do reach out to us!
Swimming To Strengthen Your Dog’s Hip & Joints
Lastly, head down to the dog swimming pool for a fun time with other furry friends at the heart of Singapore. Swimming has a whole host of benefits for your dogs; including strengthening your dog’s joints, better cardiovascular health, and also bonding with your furkids.
In the warm weather of Singapore, swimming with our dogs was also the preferred activity on a weekend to cool off the heat. Remember to bring towels & toiletries for a good doggy bath after!
